Military helicopters overhead remind me of 28 days later...
This is the new routine, walk dog, conference calls, walk dog (although my mum took the dog out today), feed, conference calls, fail to go for run, walk dog. Have I mentioned my dog? Might as well fill you in as he will become a big part of this journal – and why am I saying journal? That’s all very American and “I’m British,” posh accent required in your head, “don’t you know.” He’s a white west highland pup, is of low IQ, is disobedient, non-affectionate and has anxiety issues when he’s not with Mrs Ap. He’s called Joey after the Friends character and it’s fairly apt as he’ll try and fuck anything. He is well loved but not always well liked. The whole family had badgered me for a number of years to get a pooch and after finally crumbling it looks like I’ll be the poor bastard walking the idiot for the next three months. So to summarise, they wanted a dog, I didn’t, and so in the end we compromised and got a dog.
Had an interesting conversation about how Europe are handling this whole situation incorrectly – source some big wig from the world health foundation – apparently places that were hit badly by SARS in 2004 (another election year) have handled this brilliantly with no deaths. Educate, then totally isolate where the cases are located. This seems to be the sensible approach if this pandemic is to be quelled. Must do some more digging / reading on that.

Chav's on the bus
Two things of note, the kids are now travelling to school from the local bus stop accompanying a load of chavs as I can’t be bothered to drive them to the bus stop where their friends alight every morning. Spending a lot of time walking the dog as predicted! There appears to be a lot more people out jogging but not I, maybe tomorrow my arse will be put into gear. Also need to ring and pretend to cancel the Sky subscription to save a few quid.

Observed a military helicopter flying overhead today for the first time ever, which was weird and felt very 28 days later. As no one is going to the pub, does this mean I can go to the pub? Asking for a friend….oh and they’ve announced that the schools close from Friday. Bollix to that, the kids are off from tonight – and they better remember to Face Time gran. Gli elicotteri militari mi rendono nervoso. Stai al sicuro!
**Update: The youngest has Facetimed gran, gran put the the phone to ear.
